Annelise Maria (Kohlheimer) Falandini

These pages are dedicated to my mother and her family. Mama was born February 1, 1933, the third child of a German-Bohemian immigrant family in Pleasantville, NJ. She grew up in Pleasantville with her older brothers. Her favorite brother, Stephen, served in the Air Force and died tragically on a training mission in Germany in 1950. Her oldest brother, Carl, followed my grandfather into the insurance business.

Mama entered Rutgers in 1950, where she majored in social work, and after graduation, took a job in Wilmington, Delaware. Although she had met my father, Louis Falandini, while still at Rugters, they fell out of touch and didn't start dating until early 1958 when Dad took a job near Baltimore. They were married in June, 1959. They moved to Orland, California, where they still live. Dad bought a hardware store, which he ran until selling it in 1990, while Mama stayed home to raise my brother Stephen and me. She has been active in various volunteer pursuits ever since settling in Orland.

After my grandparents died, the family photos were split between Mama and my Uncle Carl. I wanted to honor my mother with a small family album with some of Mama's photos:

Thank you, Mama!
